This beautiful book, a worthy recipient of the 2017 Moonbeam award, needs to be on the shelf in every church library and home Jennifer Grant cleverly weaves the nine fruits of the Spirit into the story of a little boy who wonders where God can be found As he walks the city streets with his grandma, they discover together, Where love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control are, there too is God This is a beautiful, wonder filled book Buy it.

Disclaimer Jennifer is a friend This is a lovely children s book It teaches kids to look for signs of God s presence in the world around us, using the famous verse about the fruit of the Spirit love, joy, peace, patience, and so on When the little boy in the story tries doing this, he can see that God is everywhere Strongly recommended.

So many things I like about this book Thank you Jennifer Grant and Benjamin Schipper I really liked that The boy lived with his grandmother diversity They lived in the city diversity The Grandmother pointed out the fruits of the Spirit an often overlooked triune person of God, the Holy Spirit There was a person in a wheelchair abilities diversity All of the skin tones presented, all getting along THE FACT THAT MY DIVERSIFIED FAMILY WAS ENGAGED AND QUIET WHILE THE BOOK WAS READ My husband is paralyzed, and my children have different skin tones, our diversity was presented in this story What love the Grandmother must have for that boy

3.5 stars Sweet tale of a young boy learning to find God through the fruits of the spirit love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control He observes the world around him and begins to see God in the good works of others I appreciate that this book shows that good works can be found in many places other than religious settings, and done by people who are not Christian Maybe God Is Like That Too encourages empathy and kindness rather than hate and self righteousness.

A little boy asks his mother what God is like since he can t see God Grandma explains that God has certain attributes We may not be able to see God, but we can see evidence of His Spirit at work The boy notices these attributes the fruit of the Spirit in others and himself as he goes about his day, and thinks to himself, Maybe God is like that too Great read for kids learning the fruit of the Spirit verses from Galatians to better understand what these verses mean.
